Our approach is to engage with Supply Chain to identify all sources of negotiation and contract commitments. We develop a very detailed database outlining the current contract agreements. This information is then compared at a line item level to the actual payments to suppliers. Some key components to our engagement include:

  • Data - Data provided by the client, such as invoice detail, purchase order detail, and receipt detail, will help us identify exceptions with the same item by looking for patterns of payment for a particular item and focusing on those outside the norm. 
  • Paper Trail - Business Strategy does the legwork to review all paper files, if our client does not utilize a contract management system. Our team will scan pertinent information; build a detailed database of the agreements and commitments; and compare to invoice detail.
  • Distributor Information - Business Strategy has the ability to download information detail from the client’s distributors.  Client password or terminal access allows us to obtain this information online and audit line item detail against contract or unauthorized price variances.
  • Contracts - Business Strategy performs an investigation for tier discrepancies, retroactive contract terms, or rates per the contract. When we review healthcare contracts, we comprehend participative/non-participative contracts and letters of commitment.
